Bragg's Mobile Service, located in Savannah, GA, specializes in European car repairs, mainly Mercedes and BMW. My love for cars started young—I learned how to drive stick shift in a 2006 BMW 330 xi, my first car. While photographing this project, I gained new insights into the common issues with European cars and the mechanics’ process in fixing them.

Bragg’s gave me a chance to observe car repairs closely, something I’ve always been curious about. After several weeks of photographing, not wanting to outstay my welcome, I felt that my time was up. This began as a self propelled project about the daily life of a mechanic. My work hopes to reflect the nature of the two mechanics who operate the shop, the boss Keith, and his main man Eric. Every day when I would show up to photograph I would ask, “What’s goin on?” Eric would always respond with, “Just another day of working on cars.” I would keep my distance allowing them to work, trying to capture that moment when they had relaxed enough to forget me, and I was just a “fly on the wall.”
